Description:
Coconut fiber logs are 100% natural coconut fiber (coir) and are used
for various applications:
• For storm water control,
the logs can be used to slow down the velocity of storm water run-off,
thus stabilizing slopes.
• In shoreline/stream channel applications, the logs are resistant to
the forces of water. Not only great for stabilizing shorelines, they can
provide bedding where the seedlings and/or cuttings are inserted into
log with sediment. As the coconut fiber log biodegrades, the plants
develop a well established root system in the shoreline sediment to
retain the soil in place.
• The logs are an economical, durable and biodegradable material
• Great for use in catch basin protection, keeping unwanted pollutants
from entering into sewer systems.
Coconut fiber logs are available in 10in, 12in, 15in diameter and in
20ft length.

Description:
Our coconut fiber mat is made from 100% white coir fiber, the purest form
available. Using a process known as retting, the white coir fiber is
extracted from coconut husks by being submerged in fresh water streams
for a period of 8 - 10 months. During the process, water is constantly
flowing through the coir fiber matrix, removing impurities. The fiber is
then spun into yarn and woven in to mating.
The coconut fiber mat has the natural ability to absorb and retain
water, without losing its strength. An ideal environment for vegetation
growth, the mat resembles the soil in its ability to absorb solar
radiation, thus preventing overheating a problem with many synthetic
materials.
The natural color of the matting makes it aesthetically pleasing. After
years of effective erosion control and vegetation anchoring, coconut
fiber mat decomposes and joins the natural ecological cycle, providing
soil nutrients.
